Biography[]
On the island of Sainte Marina, Nigel and Sophie Girard pick up missile fire from their post at a NATO monitoring station. The USS Illinois is firing on its sister vessel the USS Colorado without explanation. Sophie also gets a visit from the island's Mayor Julian Serrat, who is trying to curry favor with gifts. Soon afterwards they record two nuclear missiles being fired on Pakistan, powerless to intervene Sophie breaks down in tears.
Captain Marcus Chaplin of the Colorado brings his vessel to Sainte Marina having been attacked by his own government. He has his crew secure the NATO station under his command, taking Nigel and Sophie into custody. Chaplin records a video message declaring the island his territory and threatening to attack anyone who violates a 200 mile perimeter around it.[1]
